BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Hugh Coppen is a Senior Vice-President with Executive Coaching Network, Inc. (EXCN). Hugh’s leadership expertise is drawn from his highly successful career of increasing executive leadership responsibility in the U.S. and internationally. He is a three-time former CEO of privately held and publicly listed companies.

As a results-driven coach, consultant and executive, he works with senior executives to fully develop their leadership effectiveness and their achievement of measurable performance improvement. He has helped leaders at all levels reach their goals in areas such as vision development and implementation, values-driven leadership, leading change, building effective teams, strategic planning and communication effectiveness.

His unique versatility is based on first hand experience across a wide range of disciplines in a diverse spectrum of industries. He has held executive positions in general management, marketing, manufacturing, sales and strategic development. He has worked in major companies in consumer-packaged goods, home entertainment, energy, brewing, retailing and communications and has consulted and coached in many others.

Hugh’s career has consistently been marked by his passion for outstanding leadership and a commitment to creative problem-solving, lateral thinking and to the implementation of highly effective management methods. He has led the introduction of major initiatives in TQM, Six Sigma, Quality Improvement and Leadership Development, all of which have provided him with a powerful focus on leadership and change management for optimum results.

An innovative and leading edge thinker, Hugh is a published writer and a dynamic and entertaining presenter on best practices in leadership and management. He is on the faculty of the Professional Development Center at San Jose State University and is a a regular speaker at Vistage (TEC) and similar groups across the US.

A graduate of the University of Cape Town, he now lives in San Francisco. He draws inspiration and gets relaxation from sailing, scuba diving, flying, hiking and African safaris.
